Travel by elevator down 70 meters to the base of the gorge and the impressive quarter mile of boardwalk that runs along the shoreline. Stepping out from the exit tunnel you will be immediately immersed in the soothing roar of North America’s largest series of standing waves! Make your way down the self-guided boardwalk tour as you take in the crashing waves and enjoy an excellent view of the 410-million-year-old rock layers of the Niagara Gorge.
Branching off from the boardwalk are several viewing platforms that allow visitors to get even closer to the Whirlpool Rapids travelling by at 48 km/hr. These platforms also provide some of the best photo opportunities in the entire park!
