PETERBOROUGH, ON – July 20, 2026 — Some concerts ask you to listen. This one dares you not to dance.
Peterborough Musicfest is set to deliver one of its most energetic nights of the summer on Saturday, July 25 as Niagara’s My Son The Hurricane makes its festival debut at Del Crary Park.
Known for transforming every performance into a high-energy celebration, the 12-piece brass-funk powerhouse has earned a reputation as one of Canada’s most exciting live acts. Blending thunderous percussion, soaring horns, infectious grooves and relentless energy, My Son The Hurricane creates the kind of concert experience that turns audiences from spectators into participants.
“One of the things we love most about Peterborough Musicfest is introducing our audience to artists they may not know yet but won’t soon forget,” says Tracey Randall, Executive Director of Peterborough Musicfest. “My Son The Hurricane is one of the most exciting live bands touring Canada today. Their musicianship is incredible, their energy is infectious, and they create the kind of atmosphere that has thousands of people dancing together. I can’t wait to see Del Crary Park come alive.”
Hailing from Niagara, the band has become a festival favourite across Canada while also performing throughout the United States, Mexico and Europe. Their powerhouse lineup features multiple horns, multiple drummers, guitar, keyboards, percussion and a magnetic front person, creating a sound that seamlessly blends funk, soul, jazz, hip-hop and rock into an unforgettable live experience.
Momentum continues to build for the band, which sold out 45 performances in 2025 while earning millions of new fans after a viral performance video amassed more than 30 million views online.
The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with the Future Sound Series presented by Cogeco, featuring local and emerging artist Alycia Hebert, before My Son The Hurricane takes the Fred Anderson Stage at 8:00 p.m.
Concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy everything Peterborough Musicfest has to offer.
