“The music never stopped, the beat never stopped … this is the music that defined an entire generation.”
For the opening show in its “Grace Auditorium”, the Port Stanley Festival Theatre is thrilled to kick off the 2018 summer season with “Across the Pond: The British Invasion” created by Leisa Way. Running from May 22nd, this foot-stomping musical revue enjoys a two-week run with a closing night Saturday June 2nd. Show Sponsored by Studio Style – Ladies Apparel & Accessories.
Starring Lisa Way (“Oh Canada: We Sing for Thee”, “Rhinestone Cowboy”, “Country Jukebox”, “Anne of Green Gables”, “Showboat”, and “The Sound of Music”), with the varied and considerable talents of the Wayward Wind Band made up of Bobby Prochaska, Fred Smith, Bruce Ley, Nathan Smith and Sam Cino, “Across the Pond: The British Invasion” celebrates a cornucopia of vintage British favourites, from the Beatles and the Rolling Stones to the Kinks and Herman’s Hermits, from Lulu and Petula Clark to Dusty Springfield.
“Let this non-stop parade of hits take you back to the time of go-go boots and miniskirts!”
As an added bonus, for the run of the show, patrons will have the opportunity to view a gallery display showcasing featured work provided by the Association of Port Stanley Artists.
With a varied season, which will appeal to single ticket buyers, subscribers, and tour groups alike, the Port Stanley Festival Theatre provides another season of top quality entertainment in 2018.
