Manitoulin Island, known as Spirit Island or Mnidoo Mnising in Ojibwe is the traditional territory of the Ojibwe,Odawa and Potawatomi tribes, within lands protected by the Manitoulin Island Treaty (45 and 94). It is made up of several communities and 6 first Nations.
