Waterloo’s biggest and wettest waterpark is open for the season
KITCHENER, Ont. – School is over, and with that comes hot days and the freedom to enjoy the summer sun.
Families looking for ways to keep the kids busy, inject some fun into their vacation and stay cool when the temperatures reach their zenith don’t have to go far – Bingemans’ Big Splash, the biggest and wettest waterpark in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region, is now open for the season.
“There are a few better ways to spend the hot days of summer than by splashing around and cooling off in the water,” says Mark Bingeman, President of Bingemans. “When that water includes thrilling slides, a wave pool and an extravagant splash pad, it makes for a fantastic way to fill those summer days.”
The water-fueled adrenaline rush at Big Splash includes:
- Wave Pool – Waterloo’s first and largest wave pool offers an assortment of wave patterns, a circulating channel and a water umbrella.
- Spray ‘N’ Play – Splash pads will cool you off with geysers, three children’s slides, a net walk and, the piece de resistance, a 1200-gallon tipping water bucket.
- Boomerango – Riders sit in a raft as they hurtle down a huge drop and race towards an almost vertical wall. Once the riders travel up and down the wall, they slide their way over some big bumps while their raft is turning and spinning towards the finish line.
- Full Throttle – Four friends race down separate slides, slipping and splashing their way to a watery finish.
- The Cyclone – Centrifugal force takes centre stage on this slide, as riders circle around a giant bowl until gravity takes over, dropping them into a splash pool below.
Big Splash is open daily until Labour Day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
