Attractions Ontario Launches Holiday Gift Guide to Support Ontario Attractions

Toronto, Ontario –In a period where small businesses are being shuttered because of a Pandemic, the time to support local is imminent. As Ontarians spend their hard-earned dollars this holiday season, Attractions Ontario aims to shed light and direct these shoppers toward a new medium – the online retail gift shops of Ontario attractions.
Shop Local has become the anthem for showing support to small businesses and Ontario attractions should not be excluded from this. The attractions (many privately owned) have also been hurt by the closures, and in some cases never given the green light to open at all. Fortunately for many, their gift shops remain open and stock some unique and oftentimes niche items that will complete any holiday check list. In fact, because these are small and locally run gift shops, the turnaround time for picking and shipping can be quicker than big box stores; the items are handpicked by store staff and shipped (or curbside delivered) with care.
The Attractions Ontario Holiday Gift Guide compiles a list of up to one hundred local Ontario attractions, and is organized into nine searchable categories that conveniently link directly to the online gift shops, gift certificate sites and donation pages. The site functions with ease and expediency.
“We are incredibly proud of this new venture that seeks to highlight Ontario attractions and the unique items available for purchase in their shops,” says Troy Young, CEO of Attractions Ontario. “There are some incredible finds at these stores including indigenous artwork, hand-made jewelry, historical books, brand-exclusive apparel and locally sourced wine and beer.”
The Holiday Gift Guide can be found at https://attractionsontario.ca/holidaygiftguide. It will be available to utilize until December 31, 2021. In addition, there is a contest giveaway on the site that awards a winner a basket consisting of local fare donated directly from the attractions. The contest will run until December 13th, 2020.
Attractions Ontario is a non-profit association, dedicated solely to optimizing attendance for their member attractions. As the only province-wide trade association dedicated exclusively to the attractions sector of the tourism industry, Attractions Ontario members encompass over 500 public and privately owned attractions in numerous categories such as amusement parks, historical sites, cultural activities, arts & entertainment and adventure tourism.
