Explore the Discovery Zone, featuring the Kids Zoo, a dynamic, interactive children's wildlife experience, Splash Island, an exciting two-acre water play area and the Waterside Theatre, home of family fun. Open seasonally.
Exhibits And Layout:
The Zoo is divided into seven zoogeographic regions: Indo-Malaya, Africa, the Americas, Australasia, Eurasia, Canadian Domain and the Tundra Trek. Animals are displayed indoors in tropical pavilions and outdoors in naturalistic environments, with viewing at many levels.
There are four rides: Gorilla Climb Ropes Course, Zoomobile, Conservation Carousel, and the Tundra Air ride. NEW opening Summer 2019, check out our Wild Rouge Zipline & Canopy Tour.
Meet our baby pygmy hippo Penelope and baby gorilla Charlie in the African Rainforest before visiting one of the largest reptiles in the world, our Aldabra tortoises Rasputin, Queenie and Malila. Plus, visit Amur tigers Vasili and Kira. These endangered tigers are the largest of all sub-species of tiger and are returning to the Zoo for the first time since 2012.
NEW for 2019: Special exhibit ‘Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea’ from May-November 2019 where you can see 10 larger-than-life sculptures made completely from plastic found in waterways and oceans around the world. Plus, climb through the trees in our Wild Rouge Zipline & Canopy Tour, take a stroll down under in our Kangaroo Walk Thru or go behind-the-scenes on one of our NEW Wild Animal Encounters.
Check out our 10-acre Tundra Trek featuring our 5-acre polar bear habitat and underwater viewing area.
See our award-winning Gorilla Rainforest, home to our Western Lowland Gorilla troop; Charles, Josephine, Ngozi, Johari, and Nneka, and Charlie, plus our bachelor group, Nassir and Sadiki.

Join us for daily animal Keeper Talks and feedings! Enjoy an informative and interactive experience seeing our animals up-close while our Zookeepers will answer your questions about our 5,000 animals.
With over 100 species of fish throughout the Zoo, explore the Zoo's Great Barrier Reef exhibit in the Australasia pavilion, filled with moon jellies, seahorses and more.
