The Kawartha Autumn Studio Tour (KAST) is a signature initiative of the Art Gallery of Peterborough and has been presented by the Gallery since 1984. Celebrating over 40 years as one of Canada’s longest-running studio tours, KAST has become a much-anticipated cultural experience in the Peterborough-Kawarthas area.
For one vibrant autumn weekend, artists across the region open the doors to their working studios, inviting visitors into the spaces where ideas take shape and creative processes unfold. From painting and sculpture to ceramics, textiles, photography, and more, KAST offers a unique opportunity to experience art in the places where it is created.
Visitors can meet artists, watch demonstrations, learn about artistic practices, and discover the stories behind the work, gaining a deeper appreciation for the creativity that thrives throughout the region.
Designed as a free, self-guided experience, KAST invites visitors to create their own cultural road trip through the Peterborough-Kawarthas region. Studios can be found in urban neighbourhoods, rural landscapes, and small towns alike, making the journey itself part of the experience.
Whether you’re a seasoned collector, an art enthusiast, or simply curious to explore, the Kawartha Autumn Studio Tour offers a rare chance to connect with artists, discover new perspectives, and experience the vibrant creative spirit of our community.
The 2026 Kawartha Autumn Studio Tour takes place September 26 & 27 from 10:00 am–5:00 pm. Plan your route, visit studios at your own pace, and experience creativity up close.
