Cobalt Mining Museum Claimed

The Cobalt Mining Museum seeks to preserve Cobalt’s past, born from the silver rush that started in the early 1900’s, while documenting the far-reaching impacts the Town of Cobalt and its people have had on the local, regional, provincial, and national landscapes!

The Cobalt Mining Museum documents the cultural and social life of the Cobalt Mining Camp, and shares the memories and wisdom of the past and making connections to how this knowledge still holds relevance today.

Cobalt, having a history associated with hard rock mining in Canada, means that the Cobalt Mining Museum boasts the world’s largest display of native silver ore as well as an impressive display of rocks and minerals from around the world!

As part of our programming, we offer tours of the local Colonial Mine Adit from the beginning of July to the end of August.
