Bon Soo Winter Carnival

The Bon Soo Winter Carnival has fostered a spirit of inclusivity and a coming together of the Sault Ste. Marie community. The festival has been a way to show off the Northern Ontario hospitality, as well as provide a fun and entertaining break during the dark winter months. By increasing fun-filled activities for all ages year-over-year, the city has steadily grown the carnival to being the largest winter carnival in Northern Ontario!

The 62nd year kicked off with an exciting opening ceremony, including fireworks, a multicultural show and of course, a ton of snow! Throughout the week, folks of all ages enjoyed themselves – sliding down the Bum Slides, skating, dancing at the EDM Sno Bath, watching and playing their favourite sports, eating yummy treats and enjoying a variety of musical talent! And of course, Mr. Bon Soo was sure to visit, high-five and hug all of his adoring fans.

And with much excitement, we’re proud to announce that the 63rd annual Bon Soo Winter Carnival will be taking place February 13th-21st, 2026! You can look forward to returning favourites such as Bum Slides, the Polar Plunge and the Fire & Ice Hot Sauce Challenge. We’ll have new programming in our Kids Zone and new musical acts and exciting programming downtown. Stay tuned for exciting programming announcements by visiting https://bonsoo.on.ca/ or by following @mrbonsoo on Facebook or Instagram. See you there!
