Muskoka Heritage Place is home of Muskoka Museum, Muskoka Pioneer Village, Rotary Village Station and Portage Flyer Train.
Who settled here
Most early settlers arrived to this area because of the Free Land Grant Act of 1868 in where the head of a family could receive, on conditions, a free grant of land.

It takes a great deal of skilled manpower and resourcefulness to keep a historic antiquated railway in operation but it’s all worth it. Just imagine yourself back in 1904, heading toward South Portage and Lake of Bays.
