Since 1980, the Temiskaming Art Gallery (TAG) has been pivotal in promoting and showcasing visual art in northeastern Ontario. TAG has exhibited the talent of local artists alongside national and international exhibitions. Our permanent collection is an ever-growing valuable treasure; a beautiful part of Canada’s collective cultural heritage. The gallery’s education and outreach programmes continue to enrich the community through the joy of experiencing and understanding visual art.
TAG’s exhibition programming includes eight yearly exhibitions with notable local artists in both group and solo shows in addition to an annual juried exhibition of the Norhtern Ontario Arts Association, and important travelling exhibitions such as works by Man Ray, Roy Lichtenstein, Jeanne-Claude & Christo, Moira Clark, Robert Holden, Lupe Rodriguez, etc – many of which are sent from the Art Gallery of Ontario. In addition to the annual Junior Artist Colony art camp, TAG frequently exhibits works by local youth and children inspiring art and positivity in young minds. TAG is also proud to offer various community outreach programs for schools and seniors, public lectures, and workshops.
