The 2023 British black comedy that’s taken the world by storm, directed by Thea Sharrock and written by Jonny Sweet. The film premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and was released in the UK in February 2024 to tons of positive reviews!
In the town of Littlehampton, people are receiving hilariously profane letters. The year is 1920 and everyone is offended, especially the deeply-conservative local, Edith Swan (played by the Oscar Award-winning actress Olivia Colman). Who is suspected of writing these letters? The rowdy, foul-mouthed Irish migrant Rose Gooding (Jessie Buckley) of course. These two neighbours, along with a team of female police officers led by Gladys Moss (Anjana Vasan), conduct an unforgettable investigation to discover the truth. It’s an incredible series of events – and based on a true story!
“The chief delight in Wicked Little Letters is watching Colman and Buckley in action.” – Richard Roeper, The Chicago Sun-Times
“There is giddy fun to be had!” -The Globe and Mail

Event Details
Valdy, born Valdemar Horsdal in Ottawa, Canada has been part of the fabric of Canadian pop and folk music for almost 40 years. A man with a thousand friends, from Newfoundland to Vancouver Island to Texas to New Zealand, he’s a singer, guitarist and songwriter who catches the small but telling moments that make up life.
Remembered for Play Me a Rock and Roll Song, his bitter-sweet memory of finding himself, a relaxed and amiable story-teller, facing a rambunctious audience at the Aldergrove Rock Festival circa 1968, Valdy has sold almost half a million copies of his 13 albums, has two Juno Awards (Folk Singer of the Year and Folk Entertainer of the Year), a total of seven Juno nominations and four Gold albums to his credit.
Valdy’s recent CDs include “Contenders”, a collaboration with friend and fellow singer/songwriter, Gary Fjellgaard, with whom he has an absolute blast touring, and a solo release, “Viva Valdy: Live at Last”, a two-CD package, one live, one studio, with a total of 25 tunes, and a lyric booklet.
One of Canada’s most influential songwriters, Valdy’s composition A Good Song was recorded under the title Just a Man by the venerable Quincy Jones ( he sang lead on the recording!). Play Me a Rock and Roll Song has been recorded by a few artists, including John Kay of Steppenwolf.
Along the way, Valdy has taken his music to a dozen different countries, from Denmark to Australia and been an often-invited performer at the prestigious Kerrville Festival in Texas. His past television appearances include Canada AM and Open Mike with Mike Bullard. Valdy has also been a panelist on Front Page Challenge, and played a lead role in an episode of The Beachcombers original series.

Get into the festive spirit with this family-friendly holiday romance movie that’s sure to sweep you off your feet!
The small town of Hawkins Bay has a problem: There’s some long-awaited construction that’s finally happening on a bridge leading to downtown, but the detours are hurting the local businesses along Main Street. Especially during their holiday high season. The town’s mayor, Alexandra Foster (Brooke Nevin), realizes she must do something or else these businesses may not survive into the new year. She and her assistant Gina (Alli Chung) decide to throw a multi-day Christmas market for these merchants.
The only suitable venue is the long-ago-closed Hawkins Mill, which is owned by the Hawkins family. The catch? There’s a 30-year feud between the Hawkins and Foster families. To make this market dream a reality, Alex must convince the reclusive Darcy Hawkins (Corey Sevier) to go along with her plans. Can they put their history aside and lead the town into a more prosperous future? It might be possible with a little holiday magic!
Released in 2021, watch as sparks fly in this Canadian-made Christmas movie. It’s guaranteed to give you all the warm and fuzzy feelings that come with this time of year!

RELAXED PERFORMANCE: Saturday, December 21st @ 2 PM will be a relaxed performance of A Christmas Carol for anyone who may enjoy a calmer theatre environment. Relaxed performances were initially designed to make theatre spaces more comfortable and welcoming to audience members with autism spectrum disorders, sensory and communication disorders or learning disabilities. Other audience members who may benefit from Relaxed Performances include parents with toddlers, people with Tourette’s syndrome, people who experience anxiety, or even people who just don’t enjoy the conventions that are experienced in a traditional theatre setting. Some relaxed performances include adjustments to the technical elements of the show (for example, reducing the volume on loud sound cues or removing strobing lighting effects or full blackouts), leaving lights on in the audience throughout the show, allowing audience members to leave the theatre and return at any point, and assuring patrons that noise and movement during the show is acceptable. They can also include the actors introducing themselves before the show and leading a pre-show discussion about any elements of the performance that patrons might find surprising or startling (moments of staged violence, actors entering into the audience etc.).For more information on relaxed performances please call the box office or email info@tweedandcompany.com.
