Together in partnership, the Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) and the National Gallery of Canada (NGC) presents the exhibition Stories My Father Couldn’t Tell Me: Jeff Thomas Origin, on view at the OAG from October 19, 2024, to March 16, 2025. The exhibition, curated by Rachelle Dickenson, PhD, Associate Curator, Indigenous Ways and Decolonization at the NGC, delves into the critical and creative practices of acclaimed Urban-Iroquois photographer and cultural theorist Jeff Thomas, reflecting on his 40 years of art making, resistance, and activism.

Visit the Diefenbunker Museum to experience “Hidden Heroes,” an impactful exhibition by Artist-in-Residence Don Kwan. This exhibition honors the contributions of essential workers — the often-overlooked cleaners, cafeteria staff, maintenance workers, emergency responders, and others who played a crucial role in sustaining the bunker’s operations during the Cold War.
Visitors will have the opportunity to reflect on history and the individuals who helped shape Canada’s journey toward equity and inclusion. The exhibition features compelling mixed-media installations, including intricate sculptures crafted from archival photographs, paper ephemera, and more.
On display:
– Now until February 2, 2025, during the museum’s operating hours.
Wednesday – Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Monday – Tuesday: Closed
Entry is included with museum admission.
