Museum of Illusions
Opened in late 2018, the Museum of Illusions offers visitors a fascinating world of unique illusions that tricks the senses, while at the same time making them question what they are seeing, touching and experiencing. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Toronto, and directly across the from the historic St. Lawrence Market, the Museum contains over 80 illusions, installations and holograms, and is the first tourist attraction to open in Toronto since Ripley’s Aquarium in 2012.
A perfect fit for any group, the Museum works closely with elementary and secondary schools across the province to align field trips with subject matter curriculum. An excursion to the Museum of Illusions is suitable for any school group and the exhibits align nicely with a variety of subjects and courses, ranging from math, geometry, science, psychology, communication and informatics, and visual arts. The illusions and exhibits are designed to intrigue a variety of senses, most especially an individual’s visual, spacial, somatic, proprioceptive, equilibrioceptive, mechanoreceptive and cognitive senses.
