The Sifton-Cook Heritage Centre is operated by the Cobourg Museum Foundation (CMF), a volunteer run, registered, not-for-profit charity. The Centre is named after two of its founders.
The Centre’s exhibits are housed in a small complex near downtown Cobourg. There is an ancient stone building which was part of a flourishing brewery in the mid-1800s, and a workman’s cottage from the 1870s. The complex now offers a unique and changing look into Cobourg’s past with story panels, videos, programs and an operating outdoor model railway.
The Heritage Centre is NOW OPEN for the 2021 season with the theme “The Heinous, the Heroic and the High Flyers”, featuring 8 of Northumberland’s most famous and infamous characters.
There is no charge for admission though donations are appreciated. .
