Port Stanley Festival Theatre 2017 Season

Port Stanley Festival Theatre is excited to provide a sneak peek at its 2017 line up. The 2017 summer season will lead off with on May 23rd with a celebration in time for Canada’s 150 birthday – the incomparable Leisa Way and her Wayward Wind Band present “Oh Canada We Sing for Thee”,  a celebration of Canadian talent, with music from Stan Rogers to Anne Murray, from Gordon Lightfoot to BTO, and Michael Buble to the Guess Who bringing a non-stop parade of hits to the Port Stanley Festival stage. Join us for the celebration!

Opening on June 7th, PSFT is pleased to be producing Norm Foster’s hit comedy “On A First Name Basis”  “A love story, a social commentary, and a mystery wrapped in witty dialogue and vivid imagery.”

David Kilbride has 12 successful spy novels and three failed marriages to his credit, he also has a housekeeper who’s had 28 years of watching from the sidelines! What happens when employer and employee sit down and become acquainted on a first name basis?  A masterful new Canadian comedy classic by Canada’s favourite playwright.

Third up, beginning July 5th, the Port Stanley Festival Theatre is delighted to be presenting “Buying The Moose” by Michael G. Wilmot:  Rob and Betty, and Greg and Cheryl have been friends forever, but then something happens that changes everything. Or does it? Tube tops and inflatable dolls, car chases and ice cream, tattoos and true love … life just gets complicated sometimes. A delightful romantic comedy from the writer of “Love Shack” and “7-10 Split”.

July 26th brings the World Premiere of “Five Alarm” by Kristen Da Silva    Ava Rose has tried (and failed) to win the Wayne Rose Memorial Chili Cook Off for 16 years, but this year it’s going to be different! With an iron will, an assistant who knows nothing and a five-time champion as her bitter rival, Ava Rose strives for triumph in this zany comedy as sweet as it is spicy. Who knew that chili could be this much fun?

Closing out the season on August 16th comes “Midnight Madness” by Dave Carley     Bloom’s Furniture is closing its doors for the last time, but first? Midnight Madness! A chance meeting between old high school friends triggers romance amongst the water beds. Will Wesley and Anna make a go of it? Will Blooms really close forever? Join us for our season closer and see just what happens when all sales are final!

With a varied season, appealing to single ticket buyers, subscribers, and tour groups alike, the Port Stanley Festival Theatre looks forward to providing another season of top quality entertainment in our newly renovated theatre.
